  • These paintings, based on film and television stills, are an attempt to capture the visual condition of being in-between electronic images. One image, rendered in low relief, becomes the means by which you see the other image, drawn in pastel. The recent works you see here have focused on interview scenes, where one subject appeals to the other for information or knowledge. In the over-the-shoulder shot, we identify with the interviewer, but there are often short clips of the interviewer's own face from the interviewee's point of view. I find these jumps in subjectivity fascinating.
